Campus Roles at a Glance


The Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) team is responsible for analyzing suspicious activity through reviewing reports, alerts and researching customer information that has been identified as suspicious activity. This business line protects the company’s reputation by ensuring compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) regulations and the USA PATRIOT Act. Working in Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”), you will be exposed to various methodologies of identifying suspicious activity, conducting research based on evidence, drawing conclusions, and escalating findings to the appropriate channels within the firm.

Anti-Money Laundering (AML)- Quality Assurance

This position will be part of the (“AML”) Quality Assurance Team. This group assists in performing Quality Assurance reviews and testing of E*TRADE Financial Corporation Enterprise (“AML”) Program and related regulation. In this role you will gain exposure to daily enterprise processes, work with corresponding business units, partner with management and ultimately ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.

Internal Audit

The Internal Auditor Internship role involves working with team members, management, and various business units to ensure a solid internal control environment. Auditors are tasked with detailed testing on the design and operational effectiveness of E*TRADE’s risks and controls. In this function, you will be exposed to new processes every day. Success in the field requires teamwork, communication skills and the ability to learn concepts quickly.

IT Risk

IT risks can expose E*TRADE to unexpected losses that can threaten the Company’s financial performance, operations, stability, security, and reputation. The IT risk management team is responsible for the management of business risk associated with the use, ownership, operation, involvement, influence, and adoption of information technology at E*TRADE. IT Risk Management team provides oversight of all IT related strategies, functions, and policies. This team ensures that a company-wide approach is employed by the appropriate parties to reduce risk in accordance with the company’s standards and procedures.  In this role you will attain the knowledge of how risk is identified and managed.                              

Market Risk

E*TRADE’s market risk management department is a high profile and high visibility group monitoring several areas of risk. If you describe yourself as a dynamic self-starter and result-oriented individual, this is the role for you. In this role you will understand how risk is monitored and managed throughout various line of business here at E*TRADE. The position will promote a good understanding of financial markets and develop strong technical skills.

Model Risk

At E*TRADE, models are used for managing interest rate, market, margin, credit and operational risks; valuing securities portfolios and financial instruments; monitoring customer activities for fraud and anti-money laundering; providing analytical tools and retirement planning advisory services to clients; and analyzing opportunities for marketing campaigns. In this role you will have the opportunity to work in multiple business domains and apply analytical skills to assess and enhance model risk management processes across the company.


At E*TRADE, the finance organization is responsible for providing actionable insights and reporting to support the firm’s Operations, Marketing, and other related organizations internally and externally. Buckets within finance include: Controller/Enterprise Business Services, Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury, Communications and Analytics and Data Science. In this role you will leverage your technical skills to provide data, develop reports, and provide insight to ultimately guide decisions made at the firm.
